The guitar tab for The First Noel is only two pages long. It’s the perfect song for beginner and intermediate guitar players - as it’s fairly easy to play.

It sounds great on acoustic guitar, even without a capo. I’ll mention again, that you really don’t need an electric guitar to play this.

You can find a current list of my gear here. I’m plugged straight into a Vox AC10 amp with the volume turned down, and the reverb turned up. My guitar is an Eric Clapton Strat with MojoTone 58 Quiet Coil (noiseless) pickups. If you like this rendition you might also like my other holiday arrangements: It’s sounds great on acoustic guitar as well - even without a capo. There’s only so much one can do with The First Noel, but I really like the way it turned out. Everything is drenched in reverb, and very ethereal sounding. The most captivating thing about Buckley’s Hallelujah are the long extended guitar introduction and solo section. I capoed the 5th fret as Buckley does, and I also added a few other parts - an intro and outro - to liven up the original piece. For The First Noel I wanted to reimagine it in the vibe of Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah.
